Merry Christmas, Everyone!

May this day be one that is devoid of contention, anger, hard feelings and condemnation.  May we commit to make it such within our own spheres of influence.

May love fill our hearts to overflowing this day.  May we commit to allow it to be so on other days.

May our differences matter less than our common status as children of God. May we commit to see it as so no matter with whom we associate.

May all of us appreciate and respect those with whom we disagree – in word as well as in deed.  May we commit to so speak and do, even with those who persecute and spitefully use us.

In all our deepest desires, may there be a road before us – and may we allow others to walk their own individual roads without throwing stones and placing unnecessary obstacles in their way. May we commit to walk thus, no matter how often our roads intersect.

May the example of those whose lives we use as our guide be ever before our eyes – and be honored in the way we live with and treat others. May we commit to remember to look back as we move forward.

May we see each other as God sees us.  May we commit to be God’s love for others.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

  1. Hear, hear. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. You are all an important part of my spiritual community. Thanks for being there.

  2. Thanks Ray–

Christmas is a busy day at our home. I’m looking forward to being with my family in a few hours.

There are many who frequent this blog that I have grown to love as bloggernacle friends. Some have left the church for various reasons; and even refer to themselves as agnostic or atheist. I hope before long they will find reason to believe and experience the manifestations of the Holy Ghost.

For reasons known to the Savior He has given me sacred experiences that are sufficient for me to declare that I know with a certainty of His availability. I have experienced the companionship of the Holy Ghost and the promised gifts of the Spirit. I know that the Book of Mormon is what it claims to be; and that those who lead the church are His prophets and therefore have authority to act in His name.

On this Christmas day, a day set apart to reflect on the birth of the Jesus Christ, I testify that He is God’s only begotten Son and stands ready to extend the blessings of the atonement to each of us when we come unto Him with full purpose of heart and humbly seek forgiveness of our sins.

  3. I’m visiting my wife at work right now. She is sleeping a bit while there is a break between pregnant ladies who need anesthesia.

Amazingly, I caught some Glen Beck (my first time to catch him “live” on television) and he talked about Christmas, his mother’s suicide and being willing to approach Christ for redemption. I don’t know what he is usually like, or what larger doses would have been like, but that was touching.

I have found many things to be grateful for today, Christ above all.

  4. Merry Christmas to everyone! For those who were up late last night and early this morning, may you get a good night’s sleep tonight! 🙂

  5. I am reading this the day after Christmas, but appreciate it all the same. Thank you, Ray. Of all the people I have come to know on the bloggernacle, you are the one who seems to most truly practice what you preach. Thank you.

  6. Thanks for posting this, Ray. I couldn’t agree more. And to all our community here at MM, enjoy the time with your loved ones! I get a little tired of the materialism of the holiday season, but thinking of others, spending time with family, and reflecting on Jesus even though he wasn’t born this time of year are all worthwhile activities!

  7. I can’t believe this is the same Ray that was commenting on Temple Petition!!!

Only messing with your head brother!! Hope you and your family had a MERRY CHRISTMAS

    Warm Regards

    James

  8. Yeah, James. My reflection on the tone of some of my comments on that thread (the tone, not the content 🙂 ) played a part in the wording of this post. I still disagree, but I should have disagreed more agreeably.
